About my Loss:
I recently lost my husband unexpectedly on September 14, 2015. He developed double pneumonia in February of this year and spent months in the hospital fighting for his life. He came home in June and was recovering slowly but getting stronger everyday. Everything was going great and out of nowhere his heart stopped beating and he dropped dead right in front of me. I have just come to grips and realize that this is not a dream. My husband is gone and never coming back. We wanted to grow old with one another but here I am at 34, a widow with a 12 year old son and i don't know what to do or how to cope... My friends and family mean well but they have no idea how i feel. I feel so alone...

    Shemica,

I see you have come to this website and though I am so sorry you have had to come here I think you will find it a place where everyone here will understand how you are feeling and you wont feel so alone.  Your friends and family will try but this is the one place where everyone will get it.

You are in such early stages of this grief and each of us could tell you we also did not know what to do or how to cope and we are in such shock we just don't know how to go from day to day.  You will feel this way for quite awhile but it is going to be your minds way of dealing with your loss.  That's why you need to take it minute by minute.  Don't think too far ahead.  Do what is the next best thing but don't push it and don't try to do too much.

You will find yourself trying to keep yourself distracted because the crying will be brutal.  Finding balance will be close to impossible but keep yourself going by doing the basics.  Trying to get a shower, eating, getting groceries and taking care of your son will just about expend everything you have energy wise.  Just know this is going to be how you are going to feel for awhile.  I am so sorry.  I wish there was something more I could say to you but I hope you will know we are here for you when you need us.
