I'm 54 years old and had a wonderful life filled mostly with joy and happiness until December 19, 2017 when my whole world changed. I was an avid cyclist since 2013 and typically rode between 6000 and 8000 miles per year. However, I haven't ridden my bike yet this year. I live about 1/2 mile away from the hospital where my daughter died. It is very painful to have to drive by it on my way to and from my office job each day. I am strongly considering moving from Orlando to Sarasota to get away from this constant painful memory. I am divorced and have two sons who are 28 and 24. My older son lives about 5 miles from me and my younger son just moved to Denver last Fall. I think I am experiencing some PTSD since I can't seem to get the vision out of my head of my daughter laying cold in helpless in the ICU bed. It is haunting me.
About my Loss:
My 32 year old daughter died of what appeared to be an accidental drug overdose. She left behind two little girls who are 9 and almost 12. They both have January birthdays. We are still waiting on the autopsy results. She had two bumps on her forehead that were not there when I last saw her just hours before she was taken to the hospital. Her fiance is a suspect in what the police have categorized as a homicide case. If heroin or opiates were involved and he provided them to her, then he will likely be arrested.
