jb - i hope I'm not wearing you out cuz I'm responding to each and every message you are sending, but I'm wondering if your friend who was a psychic or whatever you call someone with that gift - did she ever tell you what it was like on the other side after we die? Thanks,

Your dad was funny - probably still is and has them laughing in heaven. It rained here yesterday. My dad would say during thunderstorms whenever there was a boom from the thunder that someone in heaven just got a strike - he said thunderstorms were them just bowling in heaven. And, he was so handicapped he couldn't even bowl himself, so I'm not sure where he got that from. I just remember I was about 8 years old and playing on the street in front of our house during rain the first time I heard that. He didn't get much education as a child due to his child abuse and neglect. I think if he would have been educated, he would have been a great writer. He had such an imagination. Did you dad like to make those jokes about chicken's crossing the road and what came first the chicken or the egg? My dad used to say stuff like, "Why did the chicken cross the road?" And everyone expected him to say to get to the other side, and he'd say, "Because there was a big semi coming and he had to get out of the way" or something along those lines. It was different every time.
Did your dad like animals? My dad loved animals. He used to take me alone - leave mom and the brothers at home - out into the country and we'd stop at people's farms and knock on the door and he'd say, "My little girl just loves animals, and I was wondering if she could pet your mule or cow or whatever they had." I have a picture of me sitting in a field petting someone's bunny and him sitting next to me when I was just a small child. One time these people had guinea pigs they were selling and there was this ugly ugly guinea pig that I just fell in love with. He had one eye popping out and the other in more. One eye was a different color than the other one. His fur was really short and a mottled bunch of different colors - not even as pretty as brindled - just mottled. My dad said, "Well, I'm not sure why you want that ugly thing, but if you want it, I'll get it for you." So, he bought me a guinea pig and on the way home in his truck we named it Popeye. I had that guinea pig for years. It was many years later when my dad got his guinea pig that I told you about the pictures he took with it. Everyone made fun of me for having such an ugly guinea pig, but my dad defended me and told them to leave me alone. My dad saved stray dogs and cats all the time. I have a cat here now that was his that he saved. It had a brother, but it died of feline leukemia that it already had when my dad found it. By some miracle, it's litter mate did not catch the leukemia before we got it vaccinated even though they'd been together for quite some time with the other cat sick.
jb - if our dad's would have been born in our generation when stand up comedians became so popular, they probably would have both become rich and famous being stand up comedians.
my dad loved all animals we hav a cat and she follord him all over even to the tollit we had a dog yrs ago she wood follor him evry tim we went to sum 1s house a cat or a dog wood jump on him evry 1 said that abot my dad storyas coz he woz very funny i rember wen it woz snow realy bad last yr my dad said thr a snowman out ther complaning his snow balls off and wen he said tht we cudnt stop lafing now wen i sea the clouds shake im finking my dad is making evry 1 laff sum of the thngs he said i dont no wer he got thm from
That joke about the snowman is very funny! I wish I could have met your dad. I wish you could have met my dad. Maybe we will meet them some day in heaven.
i no wot u mean i bet our dads r making evry 1 laff up in heven wille we r down hear missing thm so mush my dad woz like a secend dad to his nease and nefews at his funrell evry 1 cryd our tears wer enuf to fill a lake i try to fink of all his funny kokes he wood say the man wit no leg has no leg to stand on or he wood say a lot of funny thngs evry 1 who met him loved him nurses loved him his own drs loved him sum tims he woz doing his cross words in the paper and the cat wood jump on his arms with her 2 front pars and she wood swing on his arm like tarzen he wood say i cant get a cross word dun coz she wonts all the atension she did it to me the other day i got a shock or she wood ambush him going past the stairs and he wud say iv never noin a cat to beahave like her
jb - that's how my dad's cats were with my dad - they played fetch with him like a dog. He'd sit in his chair after he got sick for hours at a time and throw the ball and they'd bring it back to him. He always said he'd never seen cats behave like that too. These cats brought so much joy to my dad's life that I think God sent them to him to help him through his end years.
i no wot u mean storyas i bet the 2 black and wite cats e had will be siting on my dads nea and wonting to be stroked and the dr we had yrs ago be barking and siting btreen my dads feet my dad wod say thy r trying to be human if you giv thm a nif and fork thy wood use it probly beter thn we do
I think our heaven will have all of the animals we loved in life too - as well as the animals everyone else loved. My dad's dog is here too. She is getting quite old, and it's only a matter of time. I thought two weeks ago I would have to put her down, because she was having a hard time breathing. But, it turned out only to be allergies - thank God. I didn't want to make the choice of putting her down as much as my dad loved her, and at the same time I was thinking - maybe she'll be happy to see them again and would rather I did that for her. My dad also said animals were smarter than us but we just saw ourselves as more civilized. I think it's neat that your dad's cat jumped on you like he used to jump on your dad - either he's letting you deeper into his heart or he is bringing messages to you from your dad.
i no wot u mean storyas hevan is for pets i bet for animals in the zoo a cuple of yrs ago wen me and my dad wer wothing this documentry wen that monky died the 1 who looket after it woz ful up my dad sid his full up u cna tell his gona miss him even my dad had a bit of a tear in his eye but he tryed nit to show it my dad wood try to put on a brave fase even if he woz in pain or lost sum 1 he loved but he woz very kind to kind and very loving evry 1 said he woz to gooood for this world i often wonder why good people suffer and bad peple dont sum times
jb - sometimes I think the good people go so soon because they are just to spiritual and heavenly for this world and thus they can't stand to be here any longer cuz of all the meanness in some other people and the greed and corruption and stuff. That kind of stuff just really hurts really spiritual people. They carry it in their hearts and it weighs them down. It's like that lady in that movie about the bees - The Secret Life of Bees I think it was called. The one sister was so sensitive that everything hurt her heart, so she had to build a wall and put notes in it of things that hurt her so she could leave the hurt in the wall. But, it still got to be too much for her, so she left this world early. As rough as my dad's edges could be because of his child abuse, he felt deeply. He would get so hurt if he saw anything else hurt. He was always saving stray animals and hurt wild animals and he was always giving kids in the neighborhood presents from his flea market stand for free. This world just weighs heavy on the hearts of sensitive people. As for the monkeys, I saw this documentary once where a lady worked with monkeys and talked with them with sign language - or maybe it was apes. Well, one of the apes had a baby who died, and the ape grieved so hard. Then, the lady who worked with them missed a few days of work due to a miscarriage. She was there very single day, so the ape was mad at her for not coming. She went up to the ape and signed, "My baby died." The ape then stopped being mad, made it's fingers go down it's face from it's eyes like tears and signed, "Sad." Then, the ape gave her a hug. They feel so much. I'll see if I can find that documentary, so I can give you the name of it. It was so beautiful and sad at the same time.
i miss my dads cooking he cud fry a egg with out burning it or busting the yok he woz gud at cooking pototos and other thngs wer iv dun it wood be harf cooket or cremated he cud cook chunky chips like my nan his mum she woz famers in the family for her huge chunky chips even my mum says she misis sum of his cooking she says he cud cook sum thngs beter thn she cud all i got told stick wif the art
I'm sure your intentions were good in telling your mum about the dream - maybe you thought it would make her feel better. We can never predict how someone will take what we tell them, especially when they are grieving. Maybe she got upset now but maybe in a couple of days when she's had time to think about it it will make her feel better. I miss that my dad used to make baked apples with brown sugar on them. They were good. Sometimes he'd use pears instead of apples. We used to eat those all the time when I was still caring for him at home. They were good. I can't eat them now, because we ate them together so often they make me think of him too much and I start crying and almost choke on them. I'll probably never eat them again unless I eat them with him in the next life.
i no wot u mean storyas abot serten foods u ate with yore dad even sweets iv never bean able to eat akit kat mars bar or connetos even bannas and apples i cant it the minit all im eating is tosties with mint sarse in i can oly manage harf then im full i no tht dream woz strange i had and upseting mum didnt help i just wish he cud com to my mam in her dreams it only happent 1s with me then the next day the leter on the ballons tht popet trice the 2 1 in the air wenwe put flowers on my grand parents grave nxt tim i go up ill wite my dad another leter on sum ballons and sea if it happens agane all i do is blow up the ballon wite the leter then let it doon thn wen i go up i blow up tie up and let thm go i all ways up i get a anser well i did on fryday
Your balloon idea is a great idea. I'm gonna do that for my mom and dad if you don't mind me stealing your idea. I'd like to write them a letter and send it up to heaven in a balloon. Please do let me know if it pops again next time for you. I had a dream right after my mom died where she came to me and told me she was feeling much better now. She knew I'd be worried about that since she was so sick when she died, so I believe she really did come to reassure me. I believe your dad came to you in a dream too.
our cat woz hiding in a bag waiting for sum 1 to pick up so she cud grab she used to do it to my dad wen he woz alive he wud say u litel buger u giv me a shok thn start playing with her or she wood clout him threw the stairs if he woz going past thn agan she clouts any 1 going past the stairs but it woz all ways him she cloued my dad used to say we hav never had a normal cat this 1 we hav now follows u like a dog he used to say if he went to the tollit she wood wait out side or follow him in side to sea wot he woz doing
jb - what great stories about the cat and your dad. It seems like the cat is starting to accept you as his new buddy, and maybe that is your dad guiding him to do that since they were so close. My dad had a cat who was a cat dog and who used to play fetch with him, but I think I told you that story before. I have to tell you another story. My dad ate fried chicken almost every day for lunch - and he'd share it with his dog. He'd take a bite and then lay a bite on his knee for the dog to eat. And, his whole meal would go that way - a bite for you and a bite for me. His dog was so spoiled, but good spoiled. Well, I started taking care of my dad, and sometimes I was exhausted and the dog would get on my nerves. One day I was mopping the floor and she kept running across the floor and tracking it up, so I snapped at her and said, "Lassie, quit getting under foot." She ran to my dad and hid behind his legs (I always made him sit in his chair when I was mopping cuz I was afraid he'd slip and fall). He sat there and petted her and said, "It's okay, honey. You don't have to listen to that mean ol' lady." And, my dad would laugh, cuz he didn't really think I was a mean ol' lady. So, after that, every time I'd tell her to do anything even if it was just sit, she'd run behind my dad's legs and hid and he'd pet her and say, "It's okay, honey. You don't have to listen to that mean ol' lady." And, he thought it was so funny. He told that story about his dog doing that to every nurse he worked with. He thought it was so funny, and it was, but not at the time I was trying to get the dog to behave.
i no wot u mean abot pets storyas sum of them try to behave like human beans the cat we hav now wen my mum tells off for clicking the carpet or furnishershe wood go crying to my dad or me now she comes crying to me as much to say i didnt mean it i wont do it agane it woz like me wen i woz akid my dad wood say to me u shud of bean born a lad i woz allways climbing or skate bording never liket any thng girlie only fancying lads wen i woz a teanager
jb- i want to being by thanking you for our many conversations. Before i started talking with you, i wasn't even able to talk about the good memories. they just hurt too bad and made me want my dad back. i didn't want to remember him - i wanted it like it was. to remember him just kept throwing it up in my face that i was never going to have him back. so i stuffed all those good memories away and wouldn't let myself look at them. now im sharing them with you and i'm finding some joy in the memories of my dad for the first time. thank you for helping me get to that point. i'm very very grateful. you and i seem to be a bit alike too. i was always more boyish. my mom would buy me dolls, and i would play with my brothers trains and leave the dolls ignored. i loved trains. and, i loved to go fishing with my dad. i'm not too tom boyish as i do wear dresses and stuff but never girlie dresses and high heel shoes or anything. i wear those long full skirts - we call them broomstick skirts in the states - and doc marten boots with a t-shirt. so i do dress somewhat girlie. but i always loved boy stuff more. i had a flea market business with my dad and i'd lift the boxes just like the guys did. i loved doing that with my dad so much. and, i have rarely had a car in my life. i always have a pick up truck (well, right now an SUV that I used like a truck). my daddy loved pick up trucks. And, i've always got my dog in the pick up truck with me like my daddy did. my dad never told me i should have been a lad (I guess cuz I wore skirts), but he always told me later in life that he wished he turned his business over to me instead of his sons cuz the didn't have the fortitude to make a go of it. and i always told him - not to worry dad. we still have the flea market business going, and that is what you'll leave to me. and, i'll keep it going for you. and, i named it Estil's Unicorn cuz that is my dad's first name. And, one time when we were at the flea market he went and bought a big unicorn head to hang on the wall of our stand. he brought it back and hung it up and said unicorns bring goo luck, so we'd have good sales. So, the flea market business will always be named estil's unicorn. And, my dog that i got after my dad died is named Elbert, because that was my dad's middle name. i hope the tributes i give to my dad in my life are making him happy on other side. your dad's cat sounds like a really fireball like my dad's cat is - always into something but always ready to stop and get a little loving and petting. What does your dads cat look like. my dad's cat is an orange tabby. his name is nugget (golden nugget) because he is gold. but we just call him nugget instead of golden nugget.
thats ok storyas our cat is all black and called loopy lucy if i hadend fond this web site i wood of dun sum very silly i no it still hurts like hell now i no his gone my parents r my best mates you soon lern tht wen yore own mates foget abot yo out with the old in with the new i wood never do tht most of my lad mates r ok but my girl mates r like got a new mate yore out and im like yea i woz there for u wen u lost people my cuzen b she woz like us wen we wer kids didnt like dolls wen i woz took to sea santa and woz given a doll i woz like i want a train set or a toy car im still the same dont lik girlie gear im happy in a tshirt pair of jeans and trainers wen i did wer lady shoes i had to go and tear all the ligamints in my ankle and foot i used to play fooootball with my dad in the park but in the minut i sea fathes days cards in the shop and im lik not fir no dad to send a card to but i no hel be get spoilt in hevan by my cuzen stevo my dad woz like a dad to him
Loopy Lucy seems like a good name for your cat from what you've told me about her personality. I'm glad your dad has a cousin, Stevo, to help him on the other side. My dad's brother - my favorite uncle on my dad's side - died six months before my dad. We never told my dad about it, because we were afraid it would kill him faster. We just kept making excuses for why Tommy wasn't visiting. I find some comfort knowing that maybe Tommy and my Mom were waiting for my dad on the other side and maybe my mom's family who went on before us. I hope though that people my dad doesn't like didn't bother him. My dad was abused as a child very badly by his parents and a sister, and I hope that the universe works in some way that protects him from having to see them again.
jb - just one more thing - I love my cat, because he was my dad's, but if I'd have picked a cat I'd have picked a solid black one. I think they are so pretty. I bet your Lucy is very pretty.
she is storyas allways looking at her self in the mirror the other 2 cats we had yrs ago the black and wite 1 wif the mushtash woz so soft he let evry cat bully him the other black and wite cat tht looket like a bandit he wood bully evry cat he saw and the dog we had woz the boss off the hooooue
jb - it's funny how they have their own personalities just like we people do. I think they grieve too. When my old dog died, my dad's cat was here, and he went up to the body, sniffed him, backed up and arched his back and put up a paw and then walked around his face several times in that position. And, he's been very clingy since my dad died. And, my dad's dog has never been herself since my mom died, and it only got worse when my dad died. I think they grieve too.
i no wot u mean storyas sum of the pets hav hugh persnlatys i asket the vet onse can thy sea color even he saiod yes coz soon as thy sea brite colors they go for thm
That is so funny that she is smart enough to look behind the tv for it. She sounds really smart. My dad's cat sits in front of the window or the tv to watch birds, and he sits in front of the tv to watch other moving things like fish in the ocean on an ocean show, but he never looks behind to see if they are there. One thing he does do that makes me think he is smart though as that when my husband picks up the laser pointer, he hears it and runs and sits on the arm of the couch waiting for my husband to turn the light on. And, when he really wants to play, he will sit on the arm of the couch and he's done that so much as a starting point for playing with the laser pointer that we just know he is waiting for the laser pointer. He loves that laser pointer. He goes crazy chasing it. It's funny.
CATS R FUNNY STORYAS EVEN SMART I SUM TIMES THNK THY R SMATER THN HUMAN BEANS IF SHE WONTS TREATS SHE LOOKES AT U PUTS HER PAW ON U AND LOOKET AT THE CUBARD AND YU GET NO PEASE TILL YOU GET HRE TREATS AND PUT THEM ON HER PLATE WEN MY DAD WOZ ALIVE SHEWOOD DO IT TO HIM ALL THE TIME COZ HE HAD A BIGER HAND OR HER CHEW STIKS FOR CATS SHE TAKE YORE FINGERS OFF FOR THT SHE USED TO DO IT TO MY DAD HEW OOD HAV DIDNT MARKS IN HIS FINGERS
jb - she is sooooo cute. That is just so funny how smart she is - she can even ask for her own treats. She sounds like a real rascal. I don't know that the cat my dad left me is as smart as yours and your dad's cat, but he too will take your hand off for messing with his treats. My husband used to say - "he's pretty confident that he has a home for life isn't he? We give him everything and he just feels so comfortable nipping at us over his treats when we provide everything. Doesn't he know we could boot him out the street." To which I always say, "I guess he knows on some level that I would never let you do that to him, so he feels very entitled to express his rights to us." To which my husband always replies, "In Ancient Egypt, cats were considered Gods, and they've never forgotten it." We humans - we always are on our best behavior for fear we will loose our jobs if we don't act right at work or we will loose a friend if we don't act right. Cat's just put whatever they feel out there and just teach us how to treat them with no doubt in their minds that we will learn. It's so funny. I love that picture you posted. Your cat is soooo cute! I love black cats. I'll try to post a picture if I can figure out how to do it. I don't know how to do it right now, but I will ask my husband to help me tonight. Thank you so much for that cute picture.
thts wot my dad used to say he used to say she plays on her goood looks even wen shes norty she wood bac anser my dad my dad used to say to her stop bean cheaky now she bac ansers us if she duze any thng norty she buts on a cute fase as mush to say i didnt mean it thn she starts likcking yore arm or hand she woz alllways doing to my dad tioll he woz wet now she duse it to me i thnk if cats and dogs cud tark thy wood
jb - you've got a cute little rascal on your hands there, as do I. I sure wish I had the confidence of these cats - to just know that I was the best thing that ever happened to the people in my life and they'd better respect me for it. That's how my dad's cat seems to think. If a person had all that confidence and self-assurance, they could quickly become the President or an astronaut or anything they wanted to be. My dad used to call his cat a little dickens. Cats are so funny.
at times storyas i wish i cud be a cat coz thy r so strong and loving at times wen i hav bean crying she has put her pars on me licket me as mush to say i am ther for u i thng if she cud tark like yore pets cud tark i fink thy wood ours just anser you back with a cheaky meaw wen shes bean norty

June is a bittersweet month for me. It was the last month I saw my dad alive. Not ready to see his one year anniversary come. A year already does not seem possible. The pain is still there and my heart so sad without my dad here. Sure still miss him like crazy.

Christianlee, I know pretty well how you feel. My Dad died the end of June 2011. It's my 1st year without him too. I *just* broke down & cried about him this past Sunday & Monday. I'm thankful for my husband, my pets, my therapist, & my family who are still with me to help my sister & I thru this. Jb, I know how it clenches your heart every time you get mail for your dad. Being his POA & executor, i got ALL his mail. I still get the odd junk mail & it makes me gasp every time with missing him. I wish he could come back, but i know that's not possible. So I go on & try to make the best of it. I hate being the "strong one" in my family!

jb - I believe that your dad is waiting on this side of the gate for you - that is why he can do things like pop balloons to give you messages. It is funny - you go that life insurance letter. My dad has been dead just around a year, and I got a letter from his doctor a couple of days ago reminding me of his appointment. Suddenly, I was back a couple of years ago and taking him to that doctor once when he was scared that the test would mean he would have to have this surgery that had been very hard on him again, and I was trying to explain to him how it was just a test and he didn't need to be scared. I was back in that moment, and my heart just broke all over again. It seems cruel for people to still send him mail, because it hurts so bad to receive it and be pulled back into those memories.
Crystal - I know how you feel. It has been just about a year since I lost my dad and there are still days when all I can do is cry. And, I've always had to be the strong one in the family too, so I know how you feel. Toward the end, I was the only one who was really there for my dad. My heart and stomach felt like they were being ripped out of my body it hurt so bad to watch him die. All I wanted to do was hide my head in the sand until it was over. I couldn't do that though. Every one else had their head hid in the sand, so I had to keep going no matter what. It was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I went through the same thing when my mom was dying.
Christianlee - I am sorry June is so hard for you. I know how you feel. My mom died in December, and i now hate December. I hate Christmas, because my mom loved it so much, and she can't be here for it. But, I have to do Christmas for the kids in the family. And, I hate April, because that is when my dad died. They say April showers bring May flowers. To me those April showers now mean tears. I know how you feel about hating June. I think that is a very normal way to feel.
i no wot u mean storyas it upsets us he gets mail evry day nealy but the life insurence 1 mum says how can a ded man get life insurence i rember wen the funrell directer cum to the house the 2nd time to get his cloths to put on him he give us alot of stuf he told us to send th is off so he wood get no more post but he did say if thy take any notise even my dad still gets leters from the hspitle ther is sum silly people who dont check th computer i no thy shud check my anti still gets post for her husband and hes bean ded well over 20 yrs if it had bean me tht went my dad wood be saying how daft can u get hel hav to hav the word wit the computer coz it allways gets the blame not the person who puts it in
jb - Loopy Lucy is so beautiful. As far as looks - my favorite is a solid black cat. They are so beautiful. My friend rescues cats. She has some feral cats in her parking lot right now that are so wild it would take a lot to tame them, but she feeds them. There is one in that group that looks just like your Lucy, and I want him so badly. But, I can't even get close to him. Because I feed them sometimes for her, he will walk a circle around me when I'm there like he is greeting me, but he will not let me touch him. Your Lucy is a beautiful girl. You know, when my dad first brought Samson and Nugget home, I never thought grey tabby cats were pretty. I couldn't imagine I would ever love him. But, I very quickly grew to love him more than any other cat I'd ever had and probably ever will have. Now, I think grey tabby cats are pretty awesome too. But, I know if I got another grey tabby cat that it's personality would be nothing like my Sam's, so what's the point. So, I guess now I think the prettiest cats are solid black and grey tabby. Your Lucy is most certainly a beautiful cat.
Is that a recent picture - she doesn't look 12. Of course, cats have much longer life spans than dogs. I'd always had dogs till my dad got these cats and then left Nugget to me (Samson died before my dad did - he thought he left Samson to me too, because I never told my dad Sam died). My mother-in-laws cats lived to be 19 and 20 and a neighbor of mine had a cat live to be over 20. So, I guess 12 for a cat is only middle aged.
i thk tjt 1 woz 2005 but she still runs arond like a ktten probely wrar a kitten out beleve ot or not she still loos the same havent got mush batery power left on my pc lap top so ill hav to go and charge up now shes on atack mode after my hand and 1 time my dad saiied she had her pars over the chair my dad last vyer had me in stitches he saied u wood thnk she woz tarking o yover the garding fense and she has jumpet on tip of me and nocket the keyd a bit funny

jb - i hope I'm not wearing you out cuz I'm responding to each and every message you are sending, but I'm wondering if your friend who was a psychic or whatever you call someone with that gift - did she ever tell you what it was like on the other side after we die?

He always said he'd never seen cats behave like that too. These cats brought so much joy to my dad's life that I think God sent them to him to help him through his end years.

I think it's neat that your dad's cat jumped on you like he used to jump on your dad - either he's letting you deeper into his heart or he is bringing messages to you from your dad.

jb - sometimes I think the good people go so soon because they are just to spiritual and heavenly for this world and thus they can't stand to be here any longer cuz of all the meanness in some other people and the greed and corruption and stuff.

Please do let me know if it pops again next time for you. I had a dream right after my mom died where she came to me and told me she was feeling much better now. jb - what great stories about the cat and your dad. He thought it was so funny, and it was, but not at the time I was trying to get the dog to behave.

jb- i want to being by thanking you for our many conversations.

It's funny.

I don't know how to do it right now, but I will ask my husband to help me tonight. jb - I believe that your dad is waiting on this side of the gate for you - that is why he can do things like pop balloons to give you messages.
