Today is my mom's birthday. I wish I could spend it with her like I always do but I can't.

I don't know how I'm going to make it through this day or this life without her kindness and love.

Happy birthday my mama. I love you so much.

Thank you M for your kind words and suggestion. I'm glad this has helped you. I'm going to start trying this. My mom was an amazing and force in everyone's life that she touched. But yes, I'm going to try this. Peace to you.

My feelings are very similar Chris, it’s just so hard to accept the loss of that kind, loving presence in your life.  My mother was also born in the spring, and this year was the first time her birthday came without her being in the world to celebrate it.  Since her death I have found myself trying to do some of the things she did, little things mostly, and it seems to help me feel close to her.  Don’t know if you would resonate with that, but though I’d mention it.

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
