Hi, Just wondering if anyone else has or has thought of establishing a private cemetery?
We have- It took a year of red tape- or rather a year for me to do all the leg work, etc etc. due to the local supervisors not having answers- although supportive.

At any rate - a year after my sons passing we brought him home, to our family resting place.
I understand this isn't for everyone however it has helped me & our family. And when we had Brad moved home, our priest lead us in pray, blessed the area, Brad & all of us. This was the first my husband experienced this as he was still fighting for his life & unaware that we even lost our dear Brad during Brads funeral etc., As well as our other son who was also in the accident, I had released for the day but, with a head injury don't remember the funeral.

We cleared a peaceful spot on our property at the edge of a wooded area, it sets among hemlock & beach trees.
I am looking over at it right now. We just planted grass 2 days ago, since spring has arrived. An hopefully his monument will arrive very soon.

Anyway- thought I would share- & Hoping to hear if anyone else has done this?

It is sad how many rights some in our country are trying to take from us even on our own property's.

Sad, but True!

PA, We just wanted to be certain it was deeded & set up legally, we certainly didn't expect it to take so long. It should not have been so difficult to find the right answers. But, I kept trying & searching until I found the right person who found the answers we needed & it went forward in weeks. Lets just say - It is sad how many rights some in our country are trying to take from us even on our own property's.

Wow, just beautiful.
I like this idea. We have family cemeteries that have been established for years, so I am not aware of the red tape involved.
What state do you live in?

"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
