Emergency responders rush Louis Moyer to an air ambulance Friday. Witnesses said Moyer, 71, of Hillsdale, was driving south on M-52 when a deer “jumped in his lap.” No other information was available because Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Deputies said only Sheriff Jon Wilson can release information.

BENNINGTON TWP. - A Hillsdale man was airlifted to an area hospital Friday afternoon after he struck a deer while riding a motorcycle on M-52 near Brewer Road.

Witnesses said Louis “Bill” Moyer, 71, was southbound on his 2003 Harley Davidson when a deer crossed the highway from the east.

The deer “jumped in the lap” of Moyer, who put his bike down and skidded across the pavement, striking his face, witness Robert Knight said.

“The deer came right between the cars and bikes and hit the bike right in the side and (Moyer) just kind of slid on his face,” said Knight, who was driving north on M-52.

Knight, of St. Louis, and a few other witnesses stopped to help Moyer. Another man driving another motorcycle ahead of Moyer was not injured and refused comment after the crash.

Some witnesses checked Moyer's vital signs and said they couldn't get a pulse.

“He was not moving at all,” Knight said of Moyer when he got to him. Moyer's condition was unknown at press time because officials would not release information about the crash.

The crash happened about 3:10 p.m. and Perry Area Fire and Rescue arrived within a couple minutes, witnesses said.

Sgt. Jeff Harkness of the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department investigated the crash and said he could not release any information. Harkness said any information must come from Sheriff Jon Wilson.

We were in the process of making funeral arrangements when my Uncle's condition turned around and today he is back to his old self, minus a few facial expressions. He even got his driver's license reinstated.

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
