Don't grieve alone; 14,000 members and growing
Today I was busy for most of the day, and it helped.
I may have written it here before, but my wife had accumulated a tremendous amount of things over the course of our marriage. So now I have the task of making the house my and my sons house and that entails cleaning out her things. I am saving photos and things with real sentimental value but that is small compared to the mountains of stuff that needs to go. I do not want to live in a shrine. I am not doing this to dishonor my wife, just to make a more livable environment for us now.
So this morning the antique dealer came over again. The last time it was really tough, today it was not enjoyable but I got through it. They loaded up a trailer and a large SUV with antiques and stuff. My house is beginning to look different in a good way, I think it will help.
My sister and nephew were over as well. It's always good to see family. We sat and talked for an hour and I made some hopefully fun plans for later in the week with my nephew. We are going to Pirate Baseball game on Thursday.
After that watched more baseball on TV with my son, oddly baseball takes my mind away from current events and allows me to relax for a little while. Then I spent about 90 minutes pushing the lawn mower and cutting grass.
Today according to my Fitbit Charge HR I walked almost 18,000 steps. That's the most since my wife passed away. I need to move more again, they say exercise is as, or more effective than a lot of antidepressants (which I refuse to take).
No really deep thoughts here one way or another. This is more of a boring activity log, maybe boring is good though. I think staying busy today was helpful. I had several periods of longing for my wife, but I did not feel broken like yesterday.
I am feeling evening calmness, my mind is clear at least for the moment.
I wish better days for everyone here.
