Dear Genevieve
I'm not sure how long ago you lost your sister or your boyfriend
but I do know how hard the first year is after losing someone you love
I lost my youngest son Jacob 1 day before his 14th birthday to AMl (leukaemia) so I do know how hard these first are ..eventually you learn to "live " without your love ones ..knowing that one day you will see them again
I light a candle for my Jake everyday I talk to him all the time I find that helps me ...
Love and hugs always Jacob's mum www.caringbridge.org/me/jacob

My daughter suffers from PTSD so I understand a bit what you are going through. My heart goes out to you in this time of loss. Please do not hesitate to seek professional counseling to help you with your PTSD and your loss. If you believe in God now is a good time to draw nearer to Him and ask for His comfort and guidance.

(((Genevieve!))) My heart goes out to you! You know, it has helped me to write blogs about my loss. Writing letters to those loved ones who have passed helps, too. Talking to people. Crying. Trying to keep in the day, the hour, the moment. If I start projecting into the future or mire myself in the past, I become overwhelmed.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

First, Welcome to the community.
It helps if you talk about your feelings. Keeping a journal is also good. The blogging feature on this site is designed just for that. Pour out your feelings. There is also art therapy and I can put you in contact with someone that can help you with that if interested. And right now you really need some hugs. (((((hugs)))))

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
