About my Loss:
I am a middle-aged woman who lost my mother in 2013; she was my best friend and my whole world. We were 2 individuals but one person. Before my mom became ill, I myself, was suffering with a disabling illness. My mom took care of me for 30 years. As result of the 24 hour time we spent together for 30 years, our emotions and thoughts, ideas and interest became intimitate and intertwined. . We supported each other in all ways. She was my whole world.My mom and I have been one heart, one mind,and one soul for my entire life. No one knew my moms wants, desires, and wishes better than myself, and vice versa.I became her primary caregiver for my mom the past 4 years as her health declined and she became bedridden. This loss has been devastating, debilitating and left me feeling so empty and hopeless. I feel like my whole world has collapsed (also losing my dad over a year ago), despite the fact that I have siblings and friends who love me and have tried to be supporting. I just don't know what to do and how to cope! So not only did I loose my mom, but I lost myself and I have nothing left. I cant work, I have no career, no husband, and no home I can call my own,and I need people to care for me, so I cant even live alone and be independent. However, I don't want to live alone either.. There is nothing of me left. I don't know how to live.
