About Me:
I am married mother of 3 other children. I work part-time as an Animal Care Technician, which has helped to keep me 'sane'. I live in rural Colorado.
About my Loss:
I lost my first-born, only son (Nathan)in a head-on car accident on July 31, 2011. He passed away 3 hours after the collision, from multiple blunt force trauma to his head and upper body. I wasn't notified about the accident until 3 hours after he had passed.

Nancy, I'm sorry.  Seems like that's all we are on here.  Sorry.  Sorry for ourselves and sorry that others are feeling as we do.  We lost our son July 2010.  It's not easy, but there are days that are a little better, but not a day that he is not thought about and missed.  This is our life now.  I hope you will join in on the board.  It may help some.

I sometimes will go long periods without posting, but I try and keep up with the comments.

I wish we could have met under different circumstances.  We are like relatives that never met before.  We are now members of the Grief family.

I am sorry.  Take care of yourself as best you can.  {{{Hugs}}}

"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More

Being the Other Woman/Other Man

This is for anyone who has lost their lover to death and you were the other woman/other man in their life. We have to grieve in silence. I can't find any support groups and feel like I'm the only one going through this situationSee More
