About Me:
Im 41 years old. I am married for 17 years and have two teenagers. I work in a high stress job w/ families, especially teenagers who are going through the criminal justice/CPS system.
About my Loss:
My father passed on June 14, 2013. His birthday is June 25 and my parents and son's birthday is June 26. We have always celebrated somehow w/ my dad/parents and my son for the combo birthday. Even if it's just us and them w/ a cake. My dad had a lot of phyiscal problems starting at 42. He had his first heart attack then but was able to fight through for an extra 20 years, to see me married, kids, my oldest driving, getting ready for college applications, etc. He seen my youngest blossom from a little girl to a beautiful teen w a heart of gold but still bratty :) He love(s)d to spoil her. I miss him beyond belief, he has (was) my always go to person when the shit hit the fan. I talked to my mom daily like 3x a day and always ask how daddy was doing? He has been sick for while and he always did things w/ the family ... watching the kids sports, activities, talent shows, etc..I know he is in a better place...just real sad and it's been hard lately to pull myself out of this blah feeling.

I’ve been living with grief for a while now, and some days it’s quiet, some days it hits out of nowhere.Lately I’ve been watching movies about loss and grief - not to make myself sad on purpose, but to feel understood. Sometimes seeing grief on screen helps when it’s hard to explain what’s going on inside. The problem is that many “grief movie lists” online feel very surface-level or overly dramatic,…See More
