About Me:
I'm 25. Live in Southern California. Full time Customer service rep.
About my Loss:
I recently went through the passing of my mother who was 48, on August 18th 2015.
She was a diabetic for just under 40 years, with renal failure, congestive heart failure, blindness, and severe depression.

Even though I was advised most of my life that she would not live past 40, her loss still took a toll on me severely. She raised me on her own. She fought for so long to make sure that I would be okay when she passed.

I'm really not ok. Even though she prepped me for this day for so long. I don't think anyone is really ever prepared or ready for the passing of their mother. She was my mother, and my father. My best friend. And I stayed by her side till she took her last breath.

At this time I am struggling to go back to everyday functions, such as work. I cant stay focused. I slip back into depression and all I can think about is the day she passed. I haven't been able to get stable sleep in about 2 weeks, I keep having dreams of her last night, her last breath. Everything reminds me of her.

I have attempted to talk to friends, other family members, but I still feel really low. I know that I need to get help. But I cant afford to see a psychologist right now.

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
