Losing a sibling

For anyone who's lost a sibling. It's worse than people seem to think it is.

About my Loss:
I tragically lost my 26 year old sister in May. She is my only sibling, and I'm only 24. It was an accidental drug overdose. Growing up we were inseparable, however, she always struggled with anxiety and mental health. As we entered our 20s it became worse and worse, and we drifted apart. A sister bond never fades though. She was unhappy, but not truly suicidal. This was a complete accident/mistake.

I struggle to find too much literature about sibling loss, but it feels unbearable because while I grieve my own loss, I also absorb the grief of my parents. I cling onto my spirituality and ask her for signs, which helps immensely. I'd like to discuss sudden sibling loss with those who share this experience.

Sending you love. I can certainly relate to the tragedy of sudden sibling loss to accidental OD.
