Profile Information

About Me:
I am a lawyer with a career as a senior executive for a number of public companies in my home country of Australia. I have master’s degrees in law and commerce, as well as an MBA (International Management), and of course a law degree (with honors).

I now live in Singapore where I have been writing full-time since 2005. My first two children's books, THE GLASS TABLE and its sequel, SHARDS are recipients of silver medals from the Mom's Choice Awards. My latest book, RAIN, was released April 2011. My writing, whether it is fiction for children or adults, deals with death, grief and loss, but I hope the final message is always one of hope and renewal.

For more on me and my writing, please visit my website at: www.leighkcunningham.com
About my Loss:
My brother, Paul, was killed in a motorbike accident in 1979. I was 16, he was 17. The time that followed was difficult to say the least. 10 years later my older brother, John, died.

I wrote RAIN out of fear of losing my husband - knowing what it feels like to lose two brothers, I can't imagine the pain of losing my husband and twin soul. In RAIN, I try to deal with it.

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
