About Me:
Not really sure how much to tell, or what to tell you. I have a teaching degree 6-12 in mathematics, a masters for incorporating technology in the classroom and am certified to teach the gifted. I worked for 20 years in Volusia county and 12 of those at a small school 6-12, where I taught all grade levels. To make a long story short; the stress of of administration and the 12-16 hour days: excluding summers was more than I could handle. I had already been under a stress load from being forced to place my mom in a nursing home and lost the rest of my family over that, so I am estranged from my side of the family. I do have a few great neighbors who can help me with my 4 horses and 8 acres. And a few good friends. I have also ran into people that my husband knew from working at the boys ranch who have helped me and I know I can trust. That is very comforting. Ted Watermans Construction, has been so gracious I can’t say enough. You see, my husband was known as “ A Very Nice Guy”, I use to joke and say that is what I will put on your tomb stone. He hated it. But he truly was a nice guy. I needed him in so many ways and now he is gone. I am alone for the first time in my life, with the exception of my dogs, bird and horses. I just realized this morning, I have never lived by myself. I am on disability and he was my go to person and I feel so lost without him. Sorry if I have spelled anything wrong as I am dyslexic and do not have my glasses on either.
About my Loss:
My husband, Walt died falling through the roof at work and layed there all night. He had never been out all night; so when he did not was not home the next morning I called and got the Miami office and then called a friend and I could hear the sirens from 2 miles away on 19 and knew something was terribly wrong. And probably wrote more than I was supposed to. I use to ride horse, train my dogs, play in my garden, but life does not seem to have much of a purpose. My husband has a son who is going to be 30 this summer. I have known him since he has been in the 6th grade. He and I still maintain our relationship as do his mother and I.

"GriefShare is a church based support group. They do have meetings online, but the usual format is a group of people experiencing a loss getting together weekly to watch videos (13 weeks total) about grief and loss. After the video, we talk about the…"

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
