About Me:
30 years old
About my Loss:
My husband passed away suddenly in November, just a little over a month ago, at the age of 30 from a heart attack as a result from an overdose. He was battling addiction to opioids for a few years starting in college, which later led to him using heroine years later. There is too much pain and too many details to even get all out. This is just the surface. I miss him so much and I wish I could give anything to have him back and to have helped him more than I did. He was so ashamed and insecure about himself. He had a disease and wanted to get better. He was an amazing and loving person. He was my best friend, my first and only love and my other half. I’m scared of a future on my own, scared of living by myself and trying to relate to others that have no idea what I am going through. We always wanted to have kids as well, and now that has been taken from us. I am a widow at age 30, and what scares me the most some days is I have so much more time ahead of me to live in this world.

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
