About Me:
I am basically a happy ,friendly attractive woman. I love animals. I used to be very involved in rescuing animals . I would rescue dogs and cats , I would try to find loving homes for them . I have a fourteen year old daughter named Jacqueline . I used to work in the diamond district in New York. I now live in Long Island. I want to be involved with people who I can relate to. I have never been to any type of counseling as a child after the loss of my Dad, which I think would have been beneficial to healing ! I am glad to have found a website where we can feel free to write our thoughts and feelings .
About my Loss:
When I was 14 years old my father was murdered. My parents were separated and I lived with my mom and two sisters in Brooklyn, N.Y. My Dad lived in the south Bronx, which was in the 1970's. The area where my dad lived was a very dangerous place. The neighborhood was quickly changing over to gangs . It was the Grand Concourse , not far from Yankee Stadium. I usually spend every second weekend over my Dad's house for visits. The weekend he was killed was July 4th of 1975. MY older sister and I were supposed to go with him for the weekend. For some reason or another we did not feel like going. We received a call during the night from a detective telling us he was mugged in his own apartment and shot in the head. He was still alive but in a coma in the hospital for about two weeks. We would visit every day to see him. One day when we came to visit him ,he died when we were there . To this very day , I still feel so guilty about not wanting to go spend the weekend with him. He might still be alive if his two daughters were with him. After all would they have carried out their murder plan if they saw two young children with their intended victim ?

"GriefShare is a church based support group. They do have meetings online, but the usual format is a group of people experiencing a loss getting together weekly to watch videos (13 weeks total) about grief and loss. After the video, we talk about the…"

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
