Bad day

I just got my husband's remains from the funeral home.  Now all that's left of him is sitting there on the fireplace in a simple box.  I feel like I'm going through slow torture and I just wish God…Continue

About Me:
I've lost many people throughout my life. By the time I was 26 I had lost all grandparents, both parents and various aunts and uncles, along with many pets. Now I'm 47 and just lost my husband and I'm all alone again.
About my Loss:
I lost my beloved husband of 15 years on 4/27/12. He was only 51 and we should have had many more years together. He was my best friend and meant everything to me. We were never able to have children, so it was just the two of us. We both lost our parents early and neither of us had a lot of family. I feel so lost and alone without him. He was the only one who truly understood me. It feels like nothing matters anymore. I don't know how to get through this - the pain is unbearable.

Thank you for inviting me as a Friend, you are the first one. My husband's bday was 4/27, he would've been 64, a very sad day for me too.

Hey Joanne,

Trust me when I say I know how you feel after only 3 weeks. I felt so alone and wondered if I could go on another day but I did. Yes its going to be one the hardest things you'll ever do but you'll get through it.  I know the days are lonely and sad but that's part of the grieving process.  Just remember all the good times you two shared when you get down and perhaps it will shed a little light on you.  Remember to take a deep breath when you are at you lowest point.  And remember too that there are people who love you..

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
