I just need a hug

I'm feeling very alone. Missing both of my parents. I'm 36. Single. No kids. I just want somebody to hold me so I can let it all out.

I know the feeling.  So many of my mom's friends supported me through the death and funeral, but they're all disappearing now and going back to their lives.   A few of them still email me and ask how I am, but that number is getting fewer and fewer.  And when they ask, I don't even know what to say in response so I usually just say "Im hanging in there."   When really, I am not.  I am so broken and I don't know how to get through the day.   But people can't handle it when you say that.  The "easy" part was the funeral and all the crazy busy planning and attending and stuff.  I didn't have to think and feel, I just had to go through the motions.  Now that there is nothing to do, I feel the loss so much more.  The day after day without her.   The grabbing my phone to call her only to realize I can't.   Ugh.  It's horrible.

Hi Jill.  I can honestly say, I'm so sorry.  Never knew anything could hurt this bad.  How have you made it to 2015?  I'm struggling to make it through February...through this week.

My Fathers Loss

Many years ago, I lost my father after his battle with colon cancer that later spread to his bones. The grief stayed with me longer than I expected. Ambrosia Behavioral Health helped me work through that loss, understand my emotions, and find healthier ways to cope and move forward. https://www.ambrosiatc.comSee More

Traumatic loss of an only child

I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.

Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide

If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. Her doctor got her hooked on pain medication and she was addicted most of my life. These doctors who were suppose to help her ended up killing her in the end. I also…See More
