About my Loss:
I lost my mom 7 months ago and I can't stop thinking about the day cancer took my best friend away!!! The day I found out that my mom wasn't going to make it, I hopped into my car and drove 8 hours to her. I guess her cancer spread like wildfire. All I could do was scream and cry all the way to the hospital. When I saw her she just laid there like in a coma and her breaths were deep and her skin was dark. She hardly spoke and was in terrific pain. My sisters and my poor dad surrounded her. I had one more day with her all by myself. My 5 sister didnt show up yet that day until late afternoon and I relieved my dad so he could go home and change. I should also note my sisters never took the time to have a relationship with my mom and hurt her. I sat next to her holding her hand and thanking her for being a wonderful mom. I know she was out of it because of all the drugs she was on but she said to me "I will always be your mom." I prayed for 8 hours. I cried right there next to her and held her hand so tight. Finally my sisters show up and I left my mom to go downstairs for a drink to find out she passed away as soon as I left the room. What cruel kind of joke is that. People tell me she didn't want me to see her die. Later that night thousands of fire flies lit up the sky. I miss talking to my mom every day and I frequently dream of her but I still can't believe she is gone.
