Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide
If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. I'm so sorry for your loss. If you need anything let me know. I'm just an email away.
Yes, "robbed" is EXACTLY how I feel. Lou and I had no children together and I did everything myself from planning the service to having his body taken care of. The same night he died in the ER I went home by myself from the hospital. It has been a nightmare! I work long hours to keep busy (and pay bills) so I guess in a way that is a diversion.
I am so sorry for your loss. How old was your mother? My Lou was only 67 (I know to some people that is old but he was in such great shape and doctors contstantly gave him a clean bill of health). He seemed healthier than I was and I am 21 years younger than him. He was my soul mate; the PERFECT husband. I was the number one priority in his life and he let me know it every day. How does one go on without that?
Did you have these health issues before your Mom's death? Do you see any relief in sight? I have a feeling if I got sick now I just would not care.
Thanks for writing. Let's keep in touch. Having someone to vent to is always good. I also check in with Hospice of the Valley Grief Healing Discussion Groups. they are an excellent resource.
