I'm currently 17 years old and I lost my mom exactly 1 month ago to a hemorrhage in her brain. I was out for lunch with my mom and everything was perfectly fine until she collapsed. 15 minutes later…Continue

About Me:
I'm 17 years old, currently in my final year of high school.
About my Loss:
I lost my Mom on the 9th of May, the day before Mother's Day. My dad was away on a business trip and my brother was playing in a chess tournament. So, my Mom and I decided to go out for lunch. Everything was okay, then she suddenly told me she was feeling faint and slumped unconscious in her chair. I immediately knew something was seriously wrong and phoned 911 straight away. The rest is a bit of a blur, but about 15 minutes later, I was told my mother had passed away. I then had to tell my dad, over the phone, that Mom was dead. And I also had to tell my little brother later that evening.

That was the worst day of my life, and it's amazing me how the pain is too much for me to even feel right now. My mom was honestly the best person in my life, and it's actually impossible for me to comprehend that I will never see her again. We later found out that her cause of death was a brain hemorrhage.

I guess I'm joining this forum to try and find people that can relate to how I'm feeling right now. Because my friends at school don't.

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
