About Me:
My name is Gillian. I live in the midwest. I have been living with three complex chronic illnesses for over ten years. Despite my health challenges I have tried to live a 'normal' life. I am a folk singer, I have worked as a doula (labor coach), I have worked with children for the last 13 years. I am working towards a career in pediatric hospice care.
About my Loss:
I lost my soul mate and partner Sarah on October 14, 2009. She and I shared the same chronic/serious illness. She and I were both stable and she was NOT terminal when she passed. She had some trouble breathing early in the morning on October 14th and three hours later was gone. Doctors later determined that a blood clot had passed through her heart. Losing Sarah has completely turned my world upside down and I am trying to regroup.

I lost the love of my life to a blood clot here in the Chicago area on December 19.  I am completely devastated. I miss her every day.  I am so sorry for your loss.

Hello... I am so sorry for your loss... I feel your pain in my own loss too. I lost my partner and love of my life Steve 30 days ago today suddenly and unexpectedly. He had no known physical illness and he died in his sleep at age 49, four days before his 50th birthday. This loss has taken so much of my spirit away. I have lost all of the little faith I had in some kind of life after this world. I am lonely despite my friends and family, who care very much. I miss him beyond words. I can't know your pain...but I probably have felt some of the devastation you have in losing the love of your live... wishing you peace. Christine

Gillian,
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. My mom right now has blood clots in her lungs and legs but they told us not to worry, she is breathing fine. Anything could happen though. Sarah was too young, much too young. If you need to vent this is a great place to do that. Thinking about you. (((((hugs)))))

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
