- 40 y-o white female. 3rd of 4 children. A sister and brother are twelve and ten years older and a brother six years younger, who has mental disability. Parents divorced after 28 years of marriage, the year I graduated high school. Father was alcoholic. Helped mother move 1000 miles away after graduation. Huge culture shock. Never lost anyone very close to me. Mom is my best friend.
- About my Loss:
- Just found out last week that mother, who has NEVER been sick, in hospital, or surgery, has cancer that is not operable and not treatable. I live 700 miles away from her. My family is supportive of me moving to be with my mom until the end. Family tells me not to cry around mom. I have always been the emotional one.
