Profile Information

About my Loss:
My mother passed away on April 3, 2015. She was 45 years old.

She ended up getting pneumonia which led to sepsis, which shut down her organs. She was on life support for nine days. I am the oldest of two children so I had to be the one who made the decision to take her off of life support. It was by far the most difficult thing I've ever done.

The last seven months have been horrible. Her and I had a strained relationship, so not only am I grieving her loss, I am also grieving the fact that her & I will never have the mother/daughter relationship I've always wanted.

My family has shut me out. My grandmother has placed blame on me - she says I shouldn't have left my mother on life support as long as I did. I planned the memorial and she had nothing good to say about it. She said I should have done more. Let me mention how I was the only family member to help get the memorial set up.

I envisioned this experience would bring my family closer together, but they've shut me out.

I feel so alone. I do have a great boyfriend who is supportive; however, he doesn't understand nor do I want him to. I feel so lost. I don't know what to do anymore.
