Traumatic loss of an only child
I started this group so that people who have lost their only child or the only child that remained, as in my case, could come together because I believe people that did have a child or children who now have none have special issues.
Loss of a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide
If you have lost a loved one to alcohol, substance abuse or suicide please share your story or feelings here. Share the love and beauty of the one you lost. Losing someone any of these ways is not natural and can be hard to understand and ask why? I lost my Mother to an overdose 9 years ago. She also suffered from major depression. I'm so sorry for your loss. I won't try to say anything or offer any advise as I know there are no words anyone can offer at a time like this.
What I can offer is experience. I know what it feels like, and I know I just wanted to get the grief out and have it be over with.
Hang in there and when you need to vent and want or care for a response, you'll find it here.
Even though you and I are the only members of this group there are many members who have helped me and I them.
Feel free to email and check out my friends, Natasha and Sheila. They lost their husbands and Natasha's husband died the same day as I lost my wife.
