I totally understand not wanting to get out of bed. And you know what? That's ok too. When you are ready, you can make meatloaf. :) I bet her recipe was awesome! You also made it through one of the toughest days, so congrats to you, you did it!
Oh bummer re: snow. Well today is probably not a good day for a walk or a visit. Your mom would want you to be safe. Ok is there a dish that she made or was known for or something that you know she would love to eat that maybe you can make or buy? Or you can light a candle for her, play a song that she liked and just tell her you remember her, miss her and love her. Then when the snow lets up and the roads are safer, you can go visit the site. I lost my best friend a few years before my mom to a fatal accident and I went back about 6 weeks later to the site to remember her. It was snowing that day also.
How is the weather there today? Is it a nice enough day for a walk? something to get you outdoors smelling fresh air? Your mom is right there with you, watching over you. She may no longer be in her body, but she is always there with you, loving you, thanking you for loving her. Hugs for you.
Hi Shellie, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I'm sending you a big big virtual hug. I know, there is not a lot that can be said to make you feel better. All I can say is that in time, it will get a little better to learn to live without her. The pain does not subside (at least not for me). Losing a mother, no matter your age, is in my opinion and in my experience, truly devastating.
Tomorrow, on the 1 month anniversary (hugs again), maybe do one little thing in memory of your mom? I plant flowers, or do my best to remake one of her signature dishes, or I go outside and look at the birds because she loved birds, I just try to do something that she would have loved. It's all I can do other than scream how much I love and miss her.
