Mrs Disalvo,

First off my mother always taught me to address a woman with Mr or Mrs.  I apologize if I addressed you incorrectly. I want to express my condolences to you and to tell you that I somewhat know how you feel with the multiple losses. I am 26 years old and I have experienced more losses than the average 26 year old. I start back in 2001 I lost my bestfriend to suicide. In 2002 I lost my father to congestive heart failure. In 2005 I lost my GOD-mother to cancer. In March of 2011 I lost my step father to a heart attack.  My stepfather was my mothers soulmate and she took care of him for 8yrs before he passed.  On March 17, 2012 I Lost my other bestfriend  and best person in the world, My mother, she had cancer but I believe also that she stop caring about her health because her soulmate was gone and she wanted to be with him. So I believe that depression had a part to play as well in her death. I am the only child and I  really don't believe that I can take another death.  I am going through the stage of trying to find out my purpose when there is no one here to show it to or see it. So I am praying for you and your comfort.

"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
