When my son Silas "Sy" River Bennett was diagnosed with late stage cancer at the age of 28, we were devastated.  He was a bright, beautiful young man who had returned to college to pursue journalism, and was well on his way to becoming a political journalist.  Silas fought his cancer much in the way he lived his life, with his wry humor, electric mind, compassion and determination intact.  Sadly, Silas passed on less than 8 months after his diagnosis.  He was 29 years young.  In Sy's memory, I have begun a tribute fund for other young adults ages 18 through 39 with cancer or cancer related ongoing serious medical issues.  We fund meaningful gifts and integrative therapies.  For more information please go to http://www.sysfund.org  To watch a short documentary video on Silas go to http://vimeo.com/15966121.  We are low on funding at the moment, so if there is anyone out there who would like to put on a fundraiser for Sy's Fund, please message me here.  We are still taking applications as well, in hopes to have more funding soon, so if you know of any young adult who could use us, please send info along.  Thank you.  Lorraine (Sy's mom forever)

Silas "Sy" River Bennett October 5, 1978 ~ May 27, 2008 ~ love you forever buddy.

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
