I will say my faith has waivered a little recently because i have been in bad health and I keep asking God why?  I do think its a test of faith, but honestly my faith will always be strong and is a part of me, I still grieve about my parents, but I'm ok and they would want me to live richly and happily....I'm doing ok, but yes it is a test of faith when your going thru illness with no light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm getting better now and thats all that matters....we see the reason for it later on

What helps me when bad things happen is to realize that none of those trials come from God.

The Bible makes a powerful point

James 1:13 — When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone.

In fact the Bible clearly identifies Satan the Devil as the source of our troubles

1 Peter 5:8 — Keep your senses, be watchful! Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone.

Having this knowledge helps us. We don't blame God...we seek his help. We blame Satan and resolve to not give in.

This knowledge doesn't take our pain away but it gives us HOPE because God promises relief in the near future.

Rachel,

My husbands mother passed away Nov 1, 2016. She passed in her sleep. In mid August she suffered a spiral fracture of her femur with separation. From then on she was in pain so she was on pain killers which kept her asleep most of the time. But she still knew us and we could talk with her when and if she woke up. She had Alzheimer's for about 10 years but still knew who we were but sometimes had to be reminded about her grandchildren and which of her children they belonged to. In the last month she had 0 quality of life. So with that fact and the pain she was in, I guess we somewhere are glad she is no longer suffering BUT that does NOT make us feel any better.

Like Dennis said above, the only real help is knowing what God promises in the Bible. Nothing takes the pain away because death is not natural. God made us to live forever. Satan the Devil rebelled against God and took Adam, Eve and all of their children with him, through lies and deceit.

The Bible says, at 2 Thessalonians 2:16 & 17 "Moreover, may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and gave everlasting comfort and good hope by means of undeserved kindness, comfort your hearts..."     Everlasting comfort and hope? Hope for what? Why do people die? Etc? All of these questions are answered in the Bible. If you would like to learn what the Bible says, I would be happy to help you find the answers. What you do with the information is your business. You are under no obligation. Please consider this video: Why Study The Bible?

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
