How can this pain never let up? I am a 52 year old woman who is no strainger to death and dying, but day after day, bad dream after bad dream, two and a half years later and I am in asmuch anguish as I was on the DOD 2/4/2011. I dont know what to do anymore.

Hi Lois,

I lost my beloved mother on July , 22 , 2013. Certainly the worst day of my life. She was my everything. My beloved mum, my best friend, my role model, my truest wellisher, my constant companion. She was the epitome of love, beauty, grace and dignity. For me the world has come to an end. Pain, sorrow , grief and depression : I'm drowning in all these. This was the first time I've dealt with death and its the most tragic loss ever. I don't feel like going on. I'm here for you Lois. Please don't think you are alone and hurting. There are many wonderful people here. You can count on me. Please contact me anytime. Hugs.
Lois

I am so sorry for the pain you are suffering.

Death is indeed such an enemy. It robs us of so many things. It's so final.

With all of that said, I do know that we can gain comfort through our struggles. Don't misunderstand. Comfort will not take the pain away. But comfort does help up move forward. It does help us cope successfully.

I find that one of the greatest sources of comfort is HOPE. Hope changes our focus. It salves our heart by giving us something to look forward to when our heart feels absorbed in darkness.

Where do find hope when we feel totally hopeless? That can be different for each person, but for me, I find it in the TRUTHS found in the Bible. NOT necessarily religion...the BIBLE.

For you, hope might come from something else. But wherever you can find it, please grab onto it.

If there is anything that I can do to help you please let me know.

Your friend

Dennis

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
