In my opinion, there is no such being as "satan" or "the devil". And if there were, and if a god exists/existed as well, then no god worthy of the name would allow that devil to harm good, innocent people.

Yes, the world is full of bad people. Selfish people, hurtful people.

But there are very important reasons why these things happen. Why God has allowed these things. It is temporary. God will STOP the suffering soon, and he will heal all of the wounds and heartache. And then mankind will NEVER suffer again.

No more death, sickness, injustice, etc.

Hi Dennis. I'm very new to this board. Have you ever read anything on tentmaker website? I'd like to know how off base I am, because god has not spoken to me directly. So growing up protestant and then catholic, you can understand that 10,000 different denominations of Christendom can confuse someone.

Quincyjr, what a humble attitude you have. Throughout Bible history, individuals received guidance from God by various means. To some, God spoke through angels or by means of visions or dreams, thus revealing to them what would happen in the future. God also gave them specific work assignments. (Num. 7:89; Ezek. 1:1; Dan. 2:19) Others received direction through God’s human representatives serving in the earthly part of his organization. No matter how God’s people received his word, those who followed his instructions were blessed.

     Today, God guides his people by means of the Bible, his holy spirit, and the congregation. (Acts 9:31; 15:28; 2 Tim. 3:16, 17) The guidance that we receive from him is so clear that it is as if ‘our own ears hear a word behind us saying: “This is the way. Walk in it.”’ (Isa. 30:21)

     I like to explain it as we speak to God through prayer and then we listen to him as we read the Bible.From what you said, "growing up protestant and then catholic, you can understand that 10,000 different denominations of Christendom can confuse someone". Yes, Quincy I understand but I can see only one solution - study the Bible. Please watch two videos: Why Study The Bible?    and What Happens at a Bible Study?

I agree that religion is very confusing. There are soooooo many and they all teach different things.

The Bible does clarify this

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,

Did you notice that the Bible is good for "setting things straight"?

For example...at "Tentmaker" they teach that even Satan the Devil will be forgiven of his crimes against God and humanity.

We need to see if that is what the Bible teaches.

2Th 1:9 These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength,

So the Bible teaches that those who are willfully disobedient to God will suffer "everlasting destruction".

This then raises a question about other teachings from that source.

The Bible is clearly the authority that we need to use to find TRUTH. Religion distorts things.

Here is what Jesus said about Religions...

Mr 7:13 Thus you make the word of God invalid by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like this.”

So we need to find out what the Bible REALLY teaches, and then we will find the Real COMFORT that we need from God.
