The last 6 weeks have been overwhelming. I will briefly provide some information.4 friends and family members have passed away in the last 6 weeks. This week I learned of my friend of almost 40 years has 6 months to live. My children from my first marriage want nothing to do with me. My father will not take care of himself physically and will not quit drinking.

At the same time, I am blessed with a wonderful wife and friend. She has been supportive of my bi-polar depression and other health issues.

I just feel overwhelmed and alone as I process my feelings. Anger, sadness, being numb, tuning out friends and the rest of the world. My job is very stressful this time of year. I did write downs some thoughts and feelings.

Not sure what I am looking here for. Maybe a thought or two that has helped.

Thank you

Hi GM Akehurst....  Sounds like you have a good reason to be depressed..... most of us on here are distraunt in losing a loved one... for me it was my son of 14 years.  I came on after 2 1/2 years of feeling alone in my emotions... it has helped to chat with people who are in the same boat... hope it helps you too.

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
