On Sept 13, 2006 I lost someone who was like my brother secondary to complications from chemo. We had to make the painful decision to take him off life support when it was obvious there was nothing else that could be done. He died at 3:45 PM. The next morning I received the news that my father had been killed in a car accident at 11:45 pm on Sept 13. My family had been trying to contact me during the night but after 7 days at the hospital exhaustion set in and I did not hear my phone. With the anniversary looming I was feeling more of a sense of dread and have found that a lot of the feelings I bury by working like a fool have recently been dug up. Then today my 14.5 year old dog that I have had since she was a baby became acutely ill and had to be euthanized. I don't know how I am going to get through this week. I have to work all weekend and put my game face on but just don't know how I am going to pull this off

That is a lot to handle, but sometimes it is better to work and by doing so, you work through it. If you need someone to talk to, you can send me a message. I'll be praying that you will make it through the weekend. I think we have all had these times when we have felt that we couldn't make it through, but you will make it through. ((((((((((many hugs)))))))))))).
Wow. I can completely understand how you are feeling. I had my uncle, my great-uncle, my great-aunt and then my dad all pass within one year. I am here for you to talk to...at any time. Truly I am still miserable, and currently just signed up for a grief support group near by. I'm really excited for it. I feel like it will be really good for me to be around others who know what I'm going through. That is why I am here...to help others and help myself.
I understand what you feel and I m so sorry for your loss. Don't think you are alone, we are always here for talk with you. Feel free to talk with us. You are in my thoughts and My deep condolences for you.
May God give you some relief from your grief.
((((((((((HUGS FOR YOU)))))))))))

Addie replied to Kali's discussion It was not supposed to be like this in the group Being the Other Woman/Other Man
"Kali I’m so so sorry you are going through this. Grief is hard enough, but going through it secretly, all the while having to continue showing up for your kids, is just brutal. Perhaps your friend was careful to hide your conversations behind…"

It was not supposed to be like this

In 2014 I met the most amazing man ever. We were both in our very early 20s and were looking for different things at the time. We ceased communication for roughly 6 months. During which time, he completed basic training and joined the Air Force. By the time we reconnected he was already at his first duty station.. 8 hours away.We decided we wanted to continue our relationship and proceeded to cultivate a deeply emotional connection. Regular calls and video chats, visits while he was home on…See More
